Chestnut trees were once a common part of American wood working but now, they are technically extinct, rarely growing large enough to ever flower and seed. This makes Chestnut extremely hard to come by. When a client requested a king size bed and television cabinet both made of Chestnut, we knew we could do it but also knew it was going to take some clever adjustments. The pieces we needed for the bed itself just weren’t available so our talented group of master craftsman built the bed out of Ash and finished it in such a way that it is nearly identical to the Chestnut used to make the cabinet. Everything from the worm holds to the knots was hand crafted to mimic authentic Chestnut wood.
