We work with a client who has a custom line of glossy colors, giving our traditional styles of furniture a really fun, fresh, and modern look. We love seeing our furniture in both traditional and modern styles; the range is exciting to see in clients’ homes and it opens us to a world of possibilities.
However, working with colors can be slightly tricky from time to time.
There are two things to remember when picking out a paint color for your home furnishings. First, colors chosen from a fan deck may not represent the finished color perfectly. Fan decks are created very often. If you’re looking at a fan deck made a couple of months ago, those color selections may not match the new fan decks made this week 100%. The shade may be slightly off - there’s a possibility in certain lighting, you’ll be able to notice this slight difference. That’s not always the case, though.
To resolve this issue, always make sure you have the most updated fan deck readily available, especially if your checking colors against other furniture pieces in your home to match. The most updated fan deck will provide us with the appropriate means to get a precise match from our suppliers, leaving you satisfied with the finished color.
Second, if you’re trying to exactly match your current furniture with the new furniture that you’re purchasing, beware that it may be a difficult task. Age of beds, nightstands, dressers, side tables, etc. always plays a factor in finish matching. It’s as simple as this: Color fades over time. If your Classic Cannonball Bed painted in Hale Navy Satin was purchased 5 years ago, the color may not be as bright and vibrant as the new nightstands you’re purchasing to match the beautiful bed.
